Historical Peninsula

istanbul hagia sophia historical peninsula

Istanbul formerly known as Byzantium and Constantinople is the most populous city in Turkey and the country's economic, cultural and historic center. Istanbul is a transcontinental city in Eurasia, straddling the Bosporus strait (which separates Europe and Asia) between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.

  • Hagia Sophia

Often referred to as the eighth wonder of the World, the Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya in Turkish) in Sultanahmet is easily one of Istanbul's most impressive sights. It also must have one of the most turbulent histories of any museum in the world.

  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Chora Church

istanbul chora churchİstanbul has more than its fair share of Byzantine monuments, but few are as drop-dead gorgeous as this mosaic- and fresco-laden church. Nestled in the shadow of Theodosius II's monumental land walls and now a museum overseen by the curators of Aya Sofya, it receives a fraction of the visitor numbers that its big sister the famous Aya Sofya attracts but offers equally fascinating insights into Byzantine art.

  • Grand Bazaar

The colorful and chaotic Grand Bazaar is the heart of İstanbul's Old City and has been so for centuries.

  • Overnight in Istanbul

Day 4 - Istanbul Tour

First, we will check out of the hotel. And drive to Dolmabahce Place.

  • Dolmabahce Palace

The palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid (who decided there should be a more European palace than Topkapi) and designed by Armenian architect Karabet Balian and his son Nikoğos Balian.

  • Bosphorus Cruise

We will have Bosphorus Cruise for 2 hours to see the magnificent view of Istanbul from the sea.

In the late afternoon, we will transfer you to the Istanbul Airport.

We come to an end to our 4 Days Historical Peninsula Tour. We hope to see you on a new TB Turkey tour and a new experience.
